Qualifying and First Round of Men's and Women's Singles.In Men's Singles, both Ronald Susilo and Kendrick Lee are safely into the next round!
Though Kendrick had a fairly hard draw by meeting Roslin Hashim of Malaysia in the first round, he managed to defeat him convincingly with only 2 sets, 21-16, 21-17.
Ronald Susilo defeats Zhang Yi of China 21-12, 21-8.
Kendrick will meet Park Sung Hwan of Korea who is seeded 9/16.
Susilo will meet Chen Hong of China.
On the other hand, in the Women's Singles, Li Li should count her blessings that Xie Xingfang was injured and so will not meet her in the first round!
She took on Eva Lee from the US and won easily in 2 sets, 21-6, 21-11.
She will meet Korea's qualifier Kang Hae Won.
The Men's, Women's and Mixed Doubles will start tomorrow.
